“911” in Morse Code

Every Morse numeral runs a full five elements, which makes numbers slow going — so contesters swap in “cut numbers,” trimming 9 to N and 0 to T to shave keystrokes. Spelled straight, 9 (−−−−·) and 1 (·−−−−) are near mirror images, so 911 keys as an almost-symmetrical little run.

Letter by letter
